As we explained last year, one of the primary motivations behind the "Vids 2.0" reboot of the platform was to bring all our content, scattered across multiple sites, under the same roof. Back in the day we used to have 7 (seven!) distinct themes/fetishes, so a pretty generic name of "Vids" was chosen for the platform that was supposed to accommodate them.

However, over time, as a result of better tools for analytics that came with the new engine we adopted for the new site and as a result of a new monetization model of offering our videos individually we've come to realize not every theme is born equal. In fact, the demand for some of our themes was simply not there. Whether it's because these two themes have always been the only ones to get dedicated admins to take care of them; or perhaps simply because that's what our audience wants to see - over the years our site has come to be primarily associated with pissing and pee desperation, especially of the voyeur variety.

Another matter we are preoccupied with this days is search engines optimization (SEO). Any business that has a small audience that shows no signs of growing has to eventually come up with ways to have the same customers pay again, and again, and again. Obviously, this means that relying only on our returning customers is a toxic strategy that is not viable in the long run. And when it comes to SEO, we realized we already have a popular, established brand of PissRIP - and going with that makes much more sense than trying to promote a new brand of Vids. We've been around since 2017 and the entire Internet knows us as PissRIP at this point.

So in light of this reality where the naming of Vids is no longer warranted and the benefits of "returning to our roots" are clear, we have decided to go back to being PissRIP, with a transition period where both VidsRIP and PissRIP will be used interchangeably. So in case you haven't been our customer for long, do not be puzzled to see our graphics suddenly say PissRIP rather than VidsRIP.

This change will only have to do with rebranding - we remain a site about pissing and pee desperation. We might change the names of our channels at some point, but for now they will remain as PissRIP and DesperVids.
